Luis Mendoza, Director of Multicultural Ministries

When I was a child I always thought I would never get older; but since I have realized I am getting older, it seems like time is going really fast. I can not believe that summer is just around the corner again. Summer is a good season for the Hispanic Ministry. We will have longer days, which in our ministry translates into having more opportunities to do God’s work. We have spent the last few months in preparation for our summer and fall outreach programs. God has placed in our hearts the development of a new strategy to reach our people. In the next few months we will be very busy actively implementing this strategy. The plan is very simple, we know that there are a lot of people we need to reach and share the gospel with; for that reason, we are trying to involve as many people as possible. In addition, since we are looking for God’s direction, we will be spending a lot of time in prayer.

We will be asking God to open doors of opportunities and give us boldness and a sense of urgency in the process of proclaiming the good news. We will be contacting your church in the next few weeks to see if there are some people in your congregation that would like to invest a few hours in this significant endeavor. If you know Spanish, or someone who does, or you would like to be immersed in the Hispanic culture please consider helping in our Hispanic Ministry.

Another exciting idea that God is leading us to pursue is the celebration of a Hispanic Festival in the fall. This festival would provide people the opportunity to learn about the Hispanic culture, experience a Latin- American atmosphere, taste different Hispanic foods, and enjoy the company of Hispanics and listen to their music. In conclusion, I would like to ask you to keep praying for this ministry and ask God to lead us, bless us and direct us in all our efforts. We know God wants to use us in a wonderful way to bring hope and light to a world in darkness and despair; and we want to be available and willing to let His light shine among all the different people groups.
